Get listed in our attorney directory.
Families who use our courses often need a licensed attorney who speaks their language. The directory is where they look. Here is how a listing works and what it costs.
What a listing is
A listing is a paid placement in our state-by-state directory of probate attorneys. It shows your name, firm, city, the languages you speak, your phone, email and website, and your bar number with a link to your state bar.
- Every listing has the same size and layout, shown A to Z by last name.
- We do not rank, recommend, match or refer. Families contact you directly.
- We take no share of any fee and charges nothing per lead or per client.
Who can be listed
- You hold an active license in the state where you want to be listed.
- You handle probate or estate administration as a regular part of your practice.
- You tell us which languages you speak yourself, and which are covered by your staff.
Listing fees
Fees are annual and the same for every attorney, in every state.
| Listing | Annual fee |
|---|---|
| Your first state | $250 |
| Each additional state where you are licensed | $125 |
The listing fee pays for a placement. It is not a charitable gift.
Supporting our work with a donation
Some attorneys also choose to give. A donation is separate from the listing fee, is made each year, and is acknowledged with its own receipt.
| Level | Annual donation | How we say thank you |
|---|---|---|
| Donor | $500 or more | “Project donor” shown on your listing, and your name on our Supporters page |
| Supporting attorney | $1,000 or more | The above, plus your logo on the Supporters page and a supporter badge for your own website |
| Founding sponsor | $2,500 or more | The above, plus a “made possible by” credit on one course video |
| Module sponsor | $10,000 or more | The above, plus a “made possible by” credit on a full course module |
“Project donor” is the same for every donor. It does not change your position, the size of your listing or how families find you, and it is not a recommendation. It stays for 12 months from your gift.
How to get listed
- Tell us about your practice. Email info@familylegacyempowerment.org with your name, firm, city, bar number, the states where you are licensed, languages spoken, phone and website.
- We check your license. We confirm with your state bar that your license is active.
- You sign the listing agreement. It is one page and sets out the terms below.
- You pay the annual fee. The listing fee is invoiced separately from any donation.
- Your listing goes live. We send you the link so you can check every detail.
Terms in brief
- Listings and donations both run for 12 months and renew each year. We send a reminder about 30 days before.
- If a listing is not renewed, it comes down. If only the donation lapses, the listing stays and the donor label is removed.
- We re-check licenses during the year. A listing is removed if a license is no longer active.
- We may decline or remove any listing.
- You are responsible for making sure your listing follows the advertising rules of your state bar.
Family Legacy Empowerment Project is a California 501(c)(3) nonprofit, EIN 41-4613269. Please ask your own tax adviser how the listing fee and any donation are treated for you.
